--------------------------------

AgeSanctuary is proud to announce the latest in tournaments for TAD: The $500 'Rise of a New Dynasty' 1v1 Tournament! Many thanks go to forum members Simbad and tvurt - as well as Ensemble Studios - for making this possible.

The 'Rise of a New Dynasty' tournament is intended as a practise event for those competing in the World Cyber Games (WCG), but anyone is allowed to compete. It will be a 1v1 tournament with each round lasting for a week, and players will be required to play a best-of-3 games versus each opponent.

With US$500 in cash up for grabs, we expect to see some great competition from all involved. Spots are limited to the first 128 entrants (may be extended if enough entrants), so enter while you still can! Sign ups are open until the 28th of June, when the tournament will begin.

Tournament rules

For the tournament to be a success, we need participants to abide by the tournament rules. We reserve the right to remove or exclude any participant from the tournament at any point if they fail to abide by the tournament rules. If at any point the rules are changed, an announcement will be posted in the News & Announcements forum. All participants will be expected to check up on and abide by rule updates.

General information

Seedings
The top 64 players will be seeded. Seedings will be determined by the power rating on the account you registered for the tournament with.

Key dates:
Sign-ups: 13th June - 28th June
Round 1: 28th June - 8th July
Round 2: 8th July - 20th July
Round 3: 20th July - 27th July
Round 4: 27th July - 3rd August
Round 5: 3rd August - 10th August
Round 6: 10th August - 17th August
Round 7: 17th August - 24th August
Round 8: 24th August - 31st August

Each round finishes at 23 GMT on the specified days. You must have played and posted your games by that time.

These dates may be subject to change if round extensions push other rounds back. In the event of changes to the round dates, an announcement will be posted in the News & Announcements forum.

Signing up for the tournament
Sign-ups are to be conducted via the sign-ups topic. You must sign-up for yourself if you are playing - you cannot sign-up another person.

Scheduling your games
All players will be required to schedule their games in our scheduling forums. Please read the scheduling guidelines topic that is pinned in each of the scheduling forums - it sets out the proper method for scheduling a game.

Playing your games
Each round you will be matched up against 1 opponent with whom you will need to play a best-of-3 series. This means that one of you will need to win 2 out of 3 games to progress to the next round.

Adherence to round dates
If you and your opponent fail to play any or all of your games, an administrative decision will be made as to who proceeds to the next round. This decision will be based upon who made the most effort to schedule and play the games.

Recorded games
All games must be recorded and posted in the Recorded Games forum. The winner must be the one to post the games. Once each result has been verified, the games will be moved to the appropriate TAD Replays forum, so do not double post your games there.

Disputes
If you have any disputes, send a private message to [NerVe]_VipeR_ rather than post it in the forums.

Settings

Civilization: Any.
Game type: Supremacy.
Map: See below.
Game rules: Standard.
Starting age: Discovery.
Game speed: Medium.
Free for all: Optional.
Handicap: None.
Record game: Yes.
Allow cheats: No.

Maps:

Round 1:
Game 1 - New England, Game 2 - California, Game 3 - Yukon

Round 2:
Game 1 - Saguenay, Game 2 - New England, Game 3 - Himalayas

Round 3:
Game 1 - Painted Desert, Game 2 - Patagonia, Game 3 - Siberia

Round 4:
Game 1 - Yukon, Game 2 - Saguenay, Game 3 - New England

Round 5:
Game 1 - Patagonia, Game 2 - Siberia, Game 3 - Painted Desert

Round 6:
Game 1 - Saguenay, Game 2 - New England, Game 3 - Yukon

Round 7:
Game 1 - Siberia, Game 2 - Painted Desert, Game 3 - Patagonia

Round 8:
Game 1 - New England, Game 2 - Yukon, Game 3 - Saguenay

Players without TWC content:

In the event that any of the two players in a match-up have just AoE3 and TAD installed (without TWC), then they must choose 'Standard Maps' in place of any game that is to be played on Painted Desert or California.

For example, if one of the two players in a match-up does not have access to TWC content, then their Round 1 maps would be as follows:

Game 1 - New England, Game 2 - Standard Maps, Game 3 - Yukon

Instead of:

Game 1 - New England, Game 2 - California, Game 3 - Yukon

Prizes

The prizes for the $500 Rise of a New Dynasty Tournament are as follows:

1st: US$300
2nd: US$150
3rd: US$50

Prizes will be distributed using Paypal. We accept no responsibility for any loss of funds in transfer. Funds can only be distributed using Paypal.

Players must claim their prize within 60 days of the conclusion of the tournament. Claiming of prizes is defined as having provided the site administration with their Paypal account details, and having then received the prize. The conclusion of the tournament is defined as the time at which the final tournament results are posted in the 'Site News and Rules' forum. If they have not claimed the prize within 60 days, their prize will be reintroduced to the tournament fund and will no longer be available to them.

Grounds for removal from tournament

- If you have been excluded from all AgeSanctuary tournaments previously, and we find you competing in the $500 Rise of a New Dynasty Tournament, you will be removed from the tournament.

- If you are banned from AgeSanctuary, and we find you competing in the $500 Rise of a New Dynasty Tournament, you will be removed from the tournament and once again banned from the site.

- If you get someone to log on to your account and play your games for you, both you and the person who logged on to your account to play the games in question will be removed from the $500 Rise of a New Dynasty Tournament.

- If you are found to be using any sort of cheat, you will be removed from the $500 Rise of a New Dynasty Tournament, excluded from all future AgeSanctuary tournaments, and banned from the site.

- If you are using more than 1 account to play in the $500 Rise of a New Dynasty Tournament, all of those accounts which you are playing under will be removed from the tournament.

- If you deliberately uninstall TWC so as to prevent your opponent from using a TWC civilization, you will be removed from the $500 Rise of a New Dynasty Tournament.

anyway nature doesnt forget to build vills, he just builds military instead, which is how his very agressive almost flooding tactics come off, he kills your eco quicker than he kills his own by not making many vills

yah hellfire was a ra master, but watching a decent naturepheonix rec is the most satisfying masochistic & brutal annihilation of each other's econs which brings a broad smile to my face ^_^

QUOTE(claudiOverclock @ Nov 6 2006, 08:00 PM)
hmm, NP eco management is something I am far from understand. It's so good I don't understand how he does that lol. He clearly won the game with his OP eco + cannons.

QUOTE(Luckyass @ Dec 31 2007, 01:58 PM)
but it seems that as soon as NPs eco is running you pretty much cant stop it anymore. Its like 99 chuck norrisses :o

Oh no! I really like your recs mayhem...don't apply for expert tag. That tag is like a black hole. As soon as ppl become expert, they stop posting recs. Look at xiphos, he was spamming so many nice recs before he became expert.. :(

you have a point, but mayhem isn't spamming any recs at this point so we have nothing to lose
